Kid A’Riffic Fun In The Park Is Back!

Kid A’ Riffic Fun In The Park Is Back!Did you know? The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation is bringing back its annual Kid A’Riffic Fun in the Park program for another summer. That’s right! Starting this week, children ages 2-10 are invited to experience free summer fun happening every Wednesday in June and July between 10am and 1pm at a different location every week.

Kid A’Riffic Fun in the Park is a fairly new program that began during the summer of 2019 to offer free activities and crafts for children. Parents can expect outdoor games and activities such as bubbles, ball games, arts and crafts, musical instruments, face painting, chalk, and more – perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children.

This event takes place at a different location every week, giving families the opportunity to experience all of the different parks and playgrounds the city has to offer.

The fun kicks off on June 1 at Ijams Nature Center in front of the Visitor’s Center. Afterward, you can follow the fun at Lakeshore Park (June 8); Victor Ashe Park (June 15); Botanical Gardens (June 22); Fountain City Park (June 29); Baker Creek Preserve (July 13); World’s Fair Park Festival Lawn (July 20); Inskip Park (July 27).

Attending Kid A’Riffic Fun in the Park as a newcomer was a pretty cool way for me to learn about a lot of the playgrounds in the area (and decide which ones were our favorite).

This is such a great family-friendly way to kick-start summer break and an easy way to burn some energy if you have small kids. I brought my one-year-old last year and she even had a blast! Check out the full schedule here!

Maybe I’ll see you there.
