Welcome to Tate’s Day Camp – home of the fun professionals. Our 52 acre campus is located on N. Cedar Bluff Road in West Knoxville.  All camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (Early care from 7:30 a.m. and extended care until 6:00 p.m are included).  Tate’s is accredited by the American Camp Association and provides weekly themes that include traditional camp activities like swimming, arts & crafts, archery, zipline, climbing tower, hillside slip’n slide, and more.

Week 1 | May 28-31 | Pirates and Princesses (4-day week)

Errrr matey – hoist me black and white flag and prepare to set sail as we voyage across the Tatesibbean. Adventure awaits us in every port where “X” marks the spot and buried treasure is within our reach. Be ye a pirate or be ye a princess, show your spirit by wearing your favorite costume. Shiver me timbers! And, don’t forget your tiara or eye patch.

Week 2 | June 3-7 | Superheroes

“Faster than a speeding camper on the zipline. More powerful than a John Deere pulling a hay wagon. Able to leap tall insects in a single bound — Look, up in the sky . . . It’s a crow . . . It’s a squirrel . . . It’s Superhero week!” Join us as we celebrate the superheroes of today and yesterday. Discover your own superhero powers as we join forces to fend off the evil villains.

Week 3 | June 10-14 | Slime & Grime

Come and join the legendary, Dr. Herbert Higginbottom IV and Professor Theodore Themopolis, for a journey into the realm of Slime & Grime. When you combine one part science and two parts imagination with some household knowledge and a little dirt, the outcome is some excitingly unusual activities, games and experiments that are sure to capture your attention and make you say WOW!

Week 4 | June 17-21 | Jurassic Camp

Pack your bags – we’re heading out on a camping trip like you’ve never ever seen. If the legends are true and the fossils are real, then there is one jungle on earth where the dinosaurs still roam. Wait! Why is the ground shaking? What’s that loud noise? Get ready to run! Welcome to Jurassic Camp. Don’t close your eyes.

Week 5 | June 24-28 | Child vs. Wild

Based in part on the television show, Survivor, tribal alliances are formed and spirit fills the air as teams participate in competitions to gain points throughout the week. Some challenges involve skill and energy while others involve thought and problem solving. Group unity and participation are essential. All eyes are focused on Friday’s closing tribal council where one team will be the victor!

Week 6 | July 1-5 | Halloween in July (closed on July 4)

Boooo! Break out the costumes, fluff up the scarecrow and gather at the amphitheater for some ghost stories because we’re waving our magic wands and celebrating Halloween early this year. Enjoy a fun week that includes a costume day and trick or treating.

Week 7 | July 8-12 | Indiana Jones and Taboo’s Lost Treasure

It’s a race against the clock as all campers unite with Tennessee Jones (Indy’s brother) in the hunt for Taboo the Squirrel’s lost treasure. Suspicion hangs in the air as the suspense builds. Was spunky the skunk involved? What about Fred Red Fox? Has anyone even seen Taboo this week? Together we will search for artifacts and hopefully discover the treasure before time runs out!

Week 8 | July 15-19 | Carnival

Fire up the cotton candy machine and crank up the music and games because it’s time for the Tate’s Carnival 2019. Step right up and try your hand at the ring toss, stop by the face painting stand, make a pitch at the dunking booth or maybe win a special prize at one of the game stations. These are just a few of the many activities awaiting you at the Tate’s Carnival.

Week 9 | July 22-26 | Medieval Mania

Join our travels to the province of Discoveryshire, adjacent to the Kingdom of Exploria, where reports tell us that there is a great unrest in the region. Court jesters lead the way as the villagers join together and create team crests portraying dignity and honor. The trumpets blare as the knights and princesses enter the grand arena for the epic dodgeball battle of 2019. It is during these times that legends are born and heroes will rise.

Week 10 | July 29–August 2 | Wild Water

Summer just wouldn’t be complete without our most traditional and ever so popular weekly theme – Wild Water Week! So, add some extra sunscreen, gather the squirters, fill the water balloons and crank up the swimming pools because this week promises to be packed with wet and wild FUN. You will feel the excitement all the way from your head to your wrinkled toes.

Summers on the lake are a great way to spend a childhood – or a lifetime.  Sailing is a wonderfully environmental way of enjoying our waterways here in east TN.  And whether you’re cruising down the lake with a family picnic or competing for Olympic gold, the mechanics of sailing are always the same.  Our summer youth Sail Camp offers a fun and informal setting for children ages 8-16 to learn how to sail and be safe on the water.

Now celebrating our 26th year, we offer three one-week sessions running June 3-21.  Students are divided into fleets by age and experience.  Our US Sailing certified instructors tailor all classes to the skill level of the group, whether first-timer or advanced racer.  New students are usually up and sailing on their own the very first day.  The warm and protected waters of Fort Loudoun Lake offer the ideal setting for learning to sail and just having fun on the water.
