Summer Fun, Lifetime Memories, Eternal Values

YMCA Camp Ocoee excels in providing a quality traditional, overnight camping experience. Ranger camp is the flagship program established by Glen Ellis in 1923. In our long history, we have balanced tradition with the interests of today’s campers by offering fun, exciting and safe activities. In ranger camp, each camper participates in a series of both land and water activities within the protection of the camp’s setting. Here, campers choose from a long list of activities to focus on each morning, while spending the afternoons experiencing the camp activities as a cabin group.

One-week sessions for boys and girls ages 7- rising high school sophomore. 4:1 camper to staff ratio. Strong Christian environment. Activities include paintball, whitewater rafting, kayaking, climbing, standup paddleboards, mtn. biking, camp-outs and many more.

Our purpose is to provide experiences, under a strong Christian emphasis, that will strengthen the spirit, mind, and body of all participants.

Ijams Nature Center

Ijams Nature CenterLocation: 2915 Island Home Avenue

Ijams Nature Adventure Camps are anything but your ordinary, run-of-the-mill day camps. At Ijams, we make every effort to ensure that campers end each day worn out, dirty, and excited to do it all over again the next day. And, we take pride in the fact that campers often experience the magic and activities typically associated with overnight camps, but at half the cost and with all of the conveniences of a local daycare. Alongside traditional activities like canoeing, camp-wide competitions, and silly songs, our campers experience the transformative and bonding power of outdoor adventures and nature exploration, igniting a lifelong passion for learning and being active.

During Ijams Preschool Summer Camps (ages 3-5), campers hit the trail early in their lives to develop basic skills, knowledge, and comfort in the outdoors. Ijams Nature Adventure Camps (ages 6-12) expand on these foundations over time through increasingly challenging content and activities, which now include high-ropes course experiences with Navitat Canopy Adventures and caving during select sessions. During campers’ journeys through Ijams camps, our experienced staff members support and inspire campers to push their comfort zones, build new friendships, and foster resilient spirits.

Welcome to Tate’s Day Camp – home of the fun professionals. Our 54-acre campus is located on N. Cedar Bluff Road in West Knoxville. All camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (Early care from 7:30 a.m. and extended care until 6:00 p.m. are included). Tate’s is accredited by the American Camp Association and provides weekly themes for children ages 3-13 that include traditional camp activities like swimming, arts & crafts, archery, zipline, climbing tower, hillside slip’n slide, and more. Freshly prepared onsite lunch is included.

Week 1 | May 26-29 | Shipwreck Lagoon (4-day week)
Errrr matey – Legend tells us that many years ago there was a great pirate ship that sank beneath the waters of the Tate’s Lagoon. As the fog lifts and steam rises from the murky sea, join us as we voyage in search of the lost ship . . . and the lost treasure that was on board. “X” marks the spot, but keep your eyes peeled as pirates skulk around the bend. Shiver me timbers!

Week 2 | June 1-5 | Aliens and Earthworms
Transporter 3 is now ready and all campers should take their stations and prepare for time warp to the gamma quadrant as we leap into a brand new weekly theme that features everything from science fiction to science experiments. Join the exploration crew as we travel into the world of the wild, weird and wacky. Pay tribute to some of the galaxies most favorite aliens and examine some of those scientific mysteries that make you stop and go, “huh.”

Week 3 | June 8-12 | Harry Potter and the Tatestastic Beasts
Calling all young wizards! The Tatestastic Beasts are on the loose and creating havoc all around camp. Join in the search for these mystical creatures and enjoy dress up days, Tateswarts crafts, and Quidditch. We’ll meet you at Platform 9 3/4 for an early departure. Don’t forget your wand and broom!

Week 4 | June 15-19 | Blast from the Past: Jurassic Escape
The time machine is ready, and we’re heading out on a journey like you’ve never ever seen. If the legends are true and the fossils are real, then we’re heading to distant lands in search of dinosaurs. Wait! Why is the ground shaking? What’s that loud noise? Get ready to run! Here they come! Don’t close your eyes.

Week 5 | June 22-26 | Child vs. Wild: Olympic Edition
We’re taking one of our most popular themes, Child vs. Wild, and putting an Olympic twist on it. Countries will unite for a week of all new competitions. Some challenges involve skill and energy while others involve thought and problem solving. Team unity and participation are essential. All eyes are focused on Friday’s closing ceremony where one team will take the gold!

Week 6 | June 29-July 3 | Tate’s Toon Town
What’s up Doc? Everyone from ages 3-13 loves a good cartoon, so why don’t we let our imagination take us on a journey to Tate’s Toon Town. We’re not going to read the comics . . . we are going to live the comics. Spend the week with our original cartoon characters; create your own character; and join the story.

Week 7 | July 6-10 | Tate’s Got Talent
Auditions are about to begin, and the search will be open to acts of all talents. We’re looking for a variety of unique performers including singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, ventriloquists and all hopeful stars. By the end of the week, we’ll be rolling out the red carpet for our finalists that will be invited to perform at Friday’s Closing Program. Not interested in performing center stage? Then join the fan club of your favorite contestant, and cast your vote for the next Tate’s sensation. It’s a week of entertainment that has a role for everyone.

Week 8 | July 13-17 | Carnival
Fire up the cotton candy machine and crank up the music and games because it’s time for the Tate’s Carnival 2020. Step right up and try your hand at the ring toss, stop by the face painting stand, make a pitch at the dunking booth or maybe win a special prize at one of the game stations. These are just a few of the many activities awaiting you at the Tate’s Carnival.

Week 9 | July 20-24 | Wild West – featuring the 2020 Dodgeball Shootout
Howdy pardner – let’s giddy up and hit the trail as we head back to the days of yesteryear. Adventure awaits at every turn. Meet me at the General Store where we’ll gather some supplies . . . and of course, don’t forget the dodgeballs. Yep – this week will include our annual dodgeball battle at the Tate’s-K-Corral so get your throwing arm into shape. Yeeee doggies . . . I can’t wait!

Week 10 | July 27-31 | Wild Water
Summer just wouldn’t be complete without our most traditional and ever so popular weekly theme – Wild Water Week! So, add some extra sunscreen, gather the squirters, fill the water balloons and crank up the swimming pools because this week promises to be packed with wet and wild FUN. You will feel the excitement all the way from your head to your wrinkled toes. We’re not heading back to school yet!

Summers on the lake are a great way to spend a childhood – or a lifetime.  Sailing is a wonderfully environmental way of enjoying our waterways here in east TN.  And whether you’re cruising down the lake with a family picnic or competing for Olympic gold, the mechanics of sailing are always the same.  Our summer youth Sail Camp offers a fun and informal setting for children ages 8-16 to learn how to sail and be safe on the water.

Now celebrating our 27th year, we offer three one-week sessions running June 1-26.  Students are divided into fleets by age and experience.  Our US Sailing certified instructors tailor all classes to the skill level of the group, whether first-timer or advanced racer.  New students are usually up and sailing on their own the very first day.  The warm and protected waters of Fort Loudoun Lake offer the ideal setting for learning to sail and just having fun on the water.
