Spots I Frequent As A SAHM Mom In Farragut, With Young KidsI’m sharing the spots I frequent with my kids as a SAHM in Farragut. If you’re an OG local, you won’t be surprised by these picks, but if you’re new here, check them out!

First up, my top picks for parks, because with three kids, four and under, you best believe we are getting out of the house for some movement.

The Cove at Concord

The park itself is small, but perfect for younger kids. It’s a beautiful setting on the water and also has a short path (a loop) that’s great for walking or even riding bikes. My kids also like to play in the sand on the volleyball courts, watch the ducks, and explore near the water. We can spend two hours here rotating through activities and I enjoy it because of the scenery.

McFee

The park is best suited for elementary aged kids. My littles can still have a good time, it just takes a bit more hands-on supervision due to the height of some structures. We absolutely love the splash pad (open now!) and can spend hours here. Weekday mornings are the most chill, but it can get packed. There are also trails that can be accessed from off the splash pad area, and my kids love going for a nature walk. There are also basketball courts and pavilions, though we have never utilized those resources.

Blue Cross Healthy Place at Town Hall Park

This is another one that is accessible for little kids. There is a big field behind it, so bringing a ball to chase is fun. We’ve also had a picnic in the field after playing. One downside is it gets VERY hot on warm days, with no shade. We also have a handful of indoor activities we frequently participate in.

Farragut Library Story Time

There are numerous options for story time throughout the week, and the Farragut library does a great job. The room does get packed, so plan to get there early! I usually put books on hold ahead of time, so we aren’t fighting a swarm of people in the children’s book section after story time.

Open Gym Tartaru’s Gymnastics and Tumbling

There is typically open gym Monday-Thursday from 10am – 12pm. I always call the day before to check, because occasionally the hours will change. The kids are entertained with practically zero effort and they get to roam the entire gym.

Premier Athletics

We seem to be at Premier Athletics every weekend for a birthday party. For good reason though! It’s a clean gym and birthday parties run smoothly. My four-year-old does gymnastics here and we love Coach Lisa Savage. Her classes fill up quickly though

Master Booe’s Karate Kidz

For $29, you can try one month of classes! My three-year-old takes Master Booe’s class and is thriving! Master Booe’s class is fun but structured, and he’s very skilled at getting the kids to follow directions. I love seeing my son learn to focus and be disciplined, while also having fun!

Summer Moon Coffee

I love this coffee shop because they have a little kids’ table with books and magnetiles. It’s a simple gesture that says, “Moms are welcome here,” so I keep coming back. Sometimes I will take all three kids with me to read to them while I enjoy my coffee and they sip hot chocolate. My favorite type of outing is taking just my four-year-old for a girls’ date – she will color while I read a book.

Restaurants to note:

  • We enjoy Cazzy’s on Northshore because we can always count on good food. I also find it’s versatile enough to run the spectrum of family dinners with kids to date night alone. You can go casual or fancy and fit the vibe.
  • We also love Northshore Brasserie for a nice evening and good food. You will need a reservation, unless you are good with sitting at the bar.
  • We live out near Choto plaza so we always pick Johnny Brusco’s for pizza, Don Gallo for Mexican, and Joey’s Sandwich Shop for a breakfast sandwich or lunch. They also carry K-Brew Coffee. A big bonus is the owner, Joey, is such a friendly, personable guy who really seems to appreciate his customers!
  • Not a restaurant, but we also love Ebenezer Road Farmers Market. It’s from 3pm-6pm on Tuesdays at Ebenezer U.M.C. You can find a lot of the same vendors from the Market Square Farmers market, with less of a crowd to navigate.

We love the family-friendly vibe to Farragut, and appreciate that it has so much to offer! There is no shortage of retail, restaurants, and leisure activities available in the area as well. Check out these spots if you haven’t!
