
Nothing says summer more than a visit to the county fair. Mark your calendars for the best six days of summer because the Anderson County Fair starts on July 13!
General Information
The Anderson County Fair starts on July 13th and goes until the 18th. Gates open at 5pm every evening. Kids six and under get free admission every night, and kids 15 and under get free admission most nights thanks to sponsors (ride armbands not included). General admission is $10 (including parking fees) and is cash only. Season passes, which are $40, will get you in for all six nights. Unlimited carnival ride armbands are $25 per night. The fair grounds are located at 218 Nave Street in Clinton. There is a map of the fair grounds on their website.

Activities
There will be fun for everyone in the family at the country fair. There are the classic carnival rides, food trucks, live music being performed every night and special events being held throughout the week. AgVenture is a new activity at the fair this year. It is a great opportunity for kids to experience farm life. They can go through different stations and learn about animals, crops, and all the people who work on the farm. If you are only going to go to the fair one night make sure it is Kid’s Fun Night on Tuesday, July 14 (for kids 6-12). Kids can enjoy all sorts of activities including, balloons and darts, basketball, cow milking, money hunt, etc. Be sure to check the website for the full schedule and information on all the fun. 

Competitions
The country fair has three main competitions plus an entire catalog of blue ribbon competitions. The three main competitions are Fairest of the Fair, the Tiny Miss Pageant, and the Truck Pull. Fairest of the Fair is a beauty pageant for girls 10-20 years old. The Tiny Miss Pageant is a beauty pageant for girls 4-9. The two pageants are held on the 13th and 14th of July (more information is on the website). The Truck Pull is on July 16 and 17. Registration goes from 5:30-6:30pm and the event starts at 6:30pm. There are cash prizes for each category. 

The blue ribbon competitions boast a wide range of activities to enter in. From 4-H to antiques, and your typical pie and cake contests. Anyone can enter an item, and winners will receive a blue ribbon. Fair guests can view all the winning exhibits in the exhibition hall.
