Sunny or Rainy Day Ideas :: Surviving the Winter to Spring Transition

We have fewer than two weeks until it is officially spring, but we all know that the weather in East Tennessee does whatever it wants. This time of year can be challenging as one day it is warm and beautiful and another cold and rainy. It makes it tough to know what kinds of activities to plan for with our kids.

I put together this list of ideas to help us bridge the gap as we transition to spring weather. Whether it is rainy {which seems to be every day in Knoxville lately} or sunny {surprise!} here are some of our favorite activities to do with your kids:

On Sunny/Warm Days:

–  Head to the park
–  Ride bikes
–  Central Filling Station
–  Zoo
–  Mini golf
–  Visit a neighbor
–  Plant some flowers
–  Sidewalk chalk
–  Go for a hike

On Rainy/Cold Days:

–  Storytime at the library
–  Museums
–  Sunsphere
–  Home Depot Kids’ Workshops
–  Williams-Sonoma junior chef
–  Smart Toys and Books interactive playground
–  Open gym
–  Ice skating or Ice Bears game
–  Teach kids to cook

Here’s hoping spring arrives quickly with lots of sunshine.
