I don’t know about you, but shopping for a new bathing suit ranks somewhere between getting dental work done and trying to assemble IKEA furniture with your children in the room. It’s not something I usually look forward to. Between the odd lighting in the fitting rooms, the endless styles that aren’t made with real bodies in mind, and the mental gymnastics of trying to decide if a certain cut is age appropriate, finding a new swimsuit can feel more exhausting and defeating than an actual day at the pool with your kids and no snacks.
But here’s the thing: moms deserve swimsuits that make us feel confident, comfortable, and, dare I say it, cute.
Whether you’re chasing toddlers around the splash pad, lounging at the lake, or trying to sneak in five minutes of sun while your kids ask for snacks every 30 seconds, you need a suit that moves with you, flatters your shape, and holds up to real life. Bonus points if it ships quickly and doesn’t break the bank.
In order to come up with some really good options, I reached out to my fellow Knoxville Moms contributors and rounded up our favorite mom-approved swimsuits, the ones we actually wear, love, and recommend to our friends.
Here are our picks; enjoy shopping and finding your new go-to suit for summer:
CALIA by Carrie Underwood (available at Dick’s Sporting Goods)
Several of our contributors love Calia suits for their flattering fit, quality material, and great coverage without feeling frumpy. The fabric holds up to long pool days and mom life, and we especially love the high-waisted bottoms and supportive tops that stay in place.
J.Crew Ruched V-Neck One-Piece
This classic one-piece is a favorite for its flattering fit, great support, and stay-put straps (even with little ones hanging on you). One of our contributors loves it so much, she owns it in multiple colors-and says it’s her go-to year after year.
J.Crew Factory Printed Strapless One-Piece
A surprisingly secure strapless option with fun, fresh prints each season. It’s a repeat buy for one of our moms, who grabs a new pattern every year and loves how easy it is to throw on with shorts or a cover-up.
Andie Swim
With tons of styles, cuts, and coverage options. Andie Swim is a go-to for moms who want to feel confident and comfortable. One of our contributors loves how easy it is to find a flattering fit-and the quality holds up summer after summer.
Sam’s Club Swimwear
Affordable, flattering, and surprisingly great quality, this suit has been a go-to this summer for one of our moms. She especially loves that it offers full coverage in the back, so there’s no constant adjusting or cheeks hanging out!
Nike Swim Tankini (available at Kohl’s)
Perfect for active days at the pool or the beach, this sporty tankini is a favorite for moms who want to feel secure and stylish. One of our contributors loves it for chasing her boys around without having to worry about staying covered.
Albion Fit
Known for their feminine styles and flattering fit, Albion Fit is a favorite for moms looking for stylish coverage. One of our contributors especially loves their swim skirt option, which is perfect for feeling like your best self while still looking cute.
Holipick Swimsuit (available on Amazon)
A great option for taller moms or anyone who struggles with the fit of traditional one-pieces. This suit offers more length in the torso and comes with a comfy boy shorts bottom. One of our contributors says it’s become her go-to thanks to the flattering fit and no-fuss coverage.
Boden
If you’re looking for timeless prints and great quality, Boden suits are a solid pick. One of our contributors loves them for their flattering fits and well-made fabrics that hold up season after season. They’re a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it.
We know swimsuit shopping isn’t always fun, but finding a suit that makes you feel good in your own skin can truly change how you enjoy your summer. Whatever water activities are on your agenda, you deserve a suit that fits you. We hope these mom-approved picks make your search a little easier and maybe even a little fun. Happy swimming, mamas!
