A few months ago my daughter was, should I say, passionate about horses. She collected horse toys and decorations with gusto. She wore clothes and toted bags covered in horses and unicorns. She even had a horse birthday, complete with horseshoe donuts! Given her deep love for horses, nothing captured her heart like riding a real live horse.
We occasionally found riding stables throughout the mountains when my parents were visiting, but what we were really interested in was finding a place for her to ride regularly. Since I never grew up around horses (aside from riding at a friend’s farm during sleepovers in elementary school) this prompted a hunt for a reliable stable suited to satisfy the dreams of a seven-year-old girl. In the process, I discovered that finding information for riding lessons in Knoxville and the surrounding areas was no easy task! There are a lot out there, but it was a painstaking process to find them all and compare prices, locations, services, etc.
At the end of my quest, I decided that a Knoxville Equestrian Roundup would be a great resource for area families! Before you is the fruit of my labor (you can thank my daughter).
Riding Lessons and Summer Camps
Most of these locations are horse farms that provide an array of services: riding lessons, summer camps, birthday parties, horse boarding, show teams, and more than I will ever know. I learned in the process that the only real way to find your best fit is to pick up the phone and schedule a visit at one of these locations. You’ll get a chance to ask questions, explore the facilities, and meet the horses. But watch out…your children will find love at first sight! (Please note locations as this list covers both Knox County and Blount County.)
