Favorite Design Trends of 2021Predicting design and style trends can be a tricky business because no matter what, you should LOVE your own home and style. Owning a shop, styling homes and producing goods for wholesale has made me fall in love with multiple styles over the years. There are a few “trends” that I feel are here to stay and have a timeless appeal.

Here are a few of my favorites for 2021:

1. Lots of Natural Materials

From beautiful marble, to wood and earthy pottery, there is something for everyone to love. Natural materials are pretty and practical for everyday use too; they are strong and durable, and only get better with age.

2. Preserved Florals

Preserved florals and filler are still making a beautiful statement in vases and bowls. It looks at home with faux and living plants. I like to use it when styling a console or bookshelf.

White is still beautiful, but we are loving all the beautiful soft greens, blues and mauve as well. These colors are appearing on furniture, accessories, florals and wallpaper. It’s exciting to see color back in our homes!

4. Mixed Metals.

Brass, nickel and copper are all at home together. Mixed metals look warm and inviting. Don’t be afraid to mix it up in your fixtures, hardware and accessories. The juxtaposition is always beautiful and timeless!

Trends come and go, but good functional design is forever. No matter what the trend, you should love your home. What’s your favorite design idea for 2021?
