If you’re looking for your next getaway destination, Pigeon Forge needs to be on your list. A few members of our team recently got to experience firsthand just a few of the many great amenities and activities that Pigeon Forge has to offer.
Hotels are fine, but if you really want to have a special trip that brings people together, you need to check out Hearthside Cabin Rentals. One of their large cabins would be an ideal location for a girls’ trip, family reunion, or even a wedding weekend. Their luxurious, spacious cabins offer a place to stay where people can create memories together while having their own space too. Plus, they offer add-on options for things such as in-cabin catered meals, masseuses, and hosted game nights.
Our group was hosted in their Grand LeConte Lodge Cabin. Its 21 bedrooms, views of Mt. LeConte, indoor pool, two hot tubs, theater, and arcade make it a truly special place to stay. It’s just minutes from all the fun of Pigeon Forge, but still feels tucked away from all the crowds.

We spent our first afternoon enjoying the Titanic Museum. We were led through our tour by the “Unsinkable Molly Brown” who knew everything and more about the Titanic. We saw artifacts from the ship and learned about real passengers who were aboard on that fateful, tragic day. The museum is a must-see for any Titanic or history enthusiast.
It’s not a trip to Pigeon Forge without eating a big breakfast somewhere, so naturally we kept up the tradition. We filled up on southern breakfast essentials at Sawyer’s Farmhouse Restaurant. Sawyer’s has a variety of delicious breakfast foods including their current special: a hot honey chicken donut. You can enjoy your pancakes with one of their homemade syrups with flavors like peanut butter and cinnamon crème.
After breakfast, we enjoyed a day at Dollywood. With live entertainment, roller coasters, shopping, and amazing food – Dollywood has something for everyone. The park is in full bloom right now with their current festival, Flowers and Food. The festival showcases gorgeous flower displays and tasty treats through the park. We got to eat some of the delicious offerings with a tasting pass. Purchasing the pass allows you to get five of the many festival food options.
Following our trip to Dollywood, we got to experience another Pigeon Forge staple with dinner and a show at Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction. We were entertained by incredible feats of horseback riding and acrobatic performances while we ate a true Southern feast. My personal favorite moment was the miniature horse race, and the tiny Highland cow was an adorable addition.
We also visited the Old Mill Historic District. The property includes shopping, dining, and, of course, the historic old mill itself. We ate lunch at The Pottery House Cafe which is housed in a converted house. Their menu includes breads made with grains straight from the mill.
One of my favorite parts of the trip was our Pink Jeep Tour. If you love a little adventure, it’s the perfect way to explore the Smokies. They have several tours to choose from that each highlight different areas of interest. We did the Newfound Gap Tour. It took us to the North Carolina and Tennessee state line at the site where President Roosevelt dedicated the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The tour offered stunning views and several great photo ops along the way. Plus, it ended with an exciting off-road course that had us laughing and hanging on tightly.
