We had a great time at our Night Out at The Stables of Hunter Valley farm with The Allergy, Asthma & Sinus Center!
While moms enjoyed wine and dinner, Dr. Ty Prince and Dr. Karthik Kirshnan, board specialists spoke to the Knoxville moms about allergy and asthma awareness.
We learned about asthma – the risk factors, the underlying triggers, the symptoms, and the impact of obesity. The doctors also spoke about pollen allergies, insect sting allergies and food allergies and how they affect children and adults. We learned the signs of an anaphylactic emergency and hands-on experience in the use of an epi-pen. Many moms also participated in a skin test to see how their skin reacted to known allergens.
