Is there anything better than an effortless girls’ trip? We recently had the best staycation and girls’ only getaway to Gatlinburg and you need to add it to your summer itinerary!
Where To Stay
Rocky Waters Inn is the cutest remodeled boutique hotel right on the parkway and within walking distance of everything! This quaint hotel boasts only riverfront rooms and is adult only (you must be 21+ to stay on the property). The bathtubs are gorgeous, the balconies with rocking chairs are so relaxing, and the Appalachian charm of this resort is hard to beat. A stay here leaves you feeling refreshed and with a new appreciation for the Smokies! The on-site Innkeeper is available 24/7 and only a text away for anything you could need.
Where to Eat
Donut Friar
Located within The Village, this is the cutest stop for a yummy breakfast or sweet treat! They open at 5AM daily and are cash only, so plan ahead. Grab your goodies and sit outside in the shade for a relaxing start to your day.
Taco Trail
A new addition to Downtown Gatlinburg you don’t want to miss! Located next to The Melting Pot in the old TGI Fridays building, you can grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks here. The menu is large, affordable, and has a taco sure to suit everyone in your party. They also have $6 margaritas!
Split Rail Eats
You can dine in here or grab something to go. They have a full bar, menu with a large variety, homemade desserts, and an espresso menu. You can even catch live music here sometimes!
Heirloom Room
Located within Rocky Waters Inn, this is a dining experience you don’t want to miss! You can dine creekside for breakfast or dinner where you order something from their menu celebrating Appalachian heritage and local farmers. If you can’t sit down for dinner, you can pop in for drinks at the full-service bar. The restaurant is moody and perfect for a girls’ getaway!
Where to Play
St. Somewhere Spa – Margaritaville
You don’t have to stay at the Margaritaville Resort to enjoy the spa! And a girls’ trip isn’t complete without a massage, nails, or facials. Step into the beach in the middle of Downtown Gatlinburg and enjoy some relaxation here. You really can’t go wrong with anything on their services menu.
Old Mountain Wine Tasting
Located on the further end of the parkway, about a mile from Rocky Waters Inn, you can get the girls together for a wine tasting! Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and they also have snacks and non-alcoholic options for those in your group who are sober. A wine flight is $20 and a great way to spend an afternoon!
The Village
Located pretty much right in the middle of Downtown Gatlinburg, The Village is exactly that: a village of shops! You’ll find everything here from candy, shoes, ice cream, toys, tea, coffee, games, sports, and more. You’ll also find plenty of shade and seating here as well to take a break when you need it.
Downtown Gatlinburg
Sometimes it’s nice to go to Gatlinburg and not have to do the things you always have to do with your kids (ahem, the aquarium). Take a stroll down the parkway and pop in and out of the shops you never get to visit! Take old timey photos, grab a bite at the Pancake Pantry, stop at a moonshine store, and take a new spin on Gatlinburg without the kids in tow.
A great time to visit Gatlinburg is right now in the off-season. You can’t go wrong with shorter lines and a more laid-back experience before everyone begins traveling for summer vacations. We recommend visiting during the week for even more of an effortless trip!
