Worried that your littles won’t have fun? No problem SoundWaves has dedicated smaller kids areas inside and outside of the park. Last year I traveled with my then 3 and 1 year old, and they had a blast while also being in a child appropriate area.

2) Tidal Track Wave Pool:

Missing the waves at the beach? No worries, SoundWaves has an awesome wave pool with a huge screen that plays music and videos all day! There are also cabanas to rent for your family, and outside bars where you can order food and drinks. So kick back and have some lunch! {The wave pool is a family favorite!}

The Lazy River is great for all ages (life jackets are also available for kids), and it’s fun to go down the twists and turns. The turbo river is a faster version that you don’t even need a float! {All floats are cleaned and washed after every use). The Lazy River has tubes for singles doubles if you would like to ride with your child.

Lazy River at SoundWaves4) Indoor/Outdoor Slides

SoundWaves thought of everyone with so many fun slides! Outside they have some for the adventurous ones in your family with some straight drop offs or inside do the Rapid Remix for a mega raft family ride!

5) You Never Have to Leave the Resort!

Gaylord Opryland has everything your family needs. From restaurants to coffee, if you stay at the resort you’ll probably never even walk the whole place because it’s gigantic. When we’ve stayed, we have just stayed inside the resort. Gaylord has nine acres of indoor gardens complete with multiple waterfalls, restaurants, an indoor boat ride, dancing fountains, and seasonal activities available to the public. They have nightly fountain shows that have music and light that kids and adults will both enjoy!

In the summer, they run Summerfest that have different themes each year. This year you can experience the Wildlife Rescue AR Experience. Once you download the app on your phone you follow the map to find the clues about endangered species. My boys loved this one, and the photos really look like the animal is right there!

AR Experience at GaylordYou can also enjoy rides on the Delta Riverboat Tour to learn about the history of the hotel and about the flowers and plants throughout the resort. This tour is located in the Delta area of the resort which has a New Orleans vibe. It was one of our favorite areas because it has shops, coffee, and sweets!

Over 20 years ago, I moved to Knoxville and fell in love with the city that has now truly become my home. Shortly after moving here, I married my college sweetheart, and when not working we set out to travel as much as we could. After working as a financial manager for six years, I welcomed my first son in 2010 and began a journey as a stay-at-home mom. Two years later we added another baby boy to make us a family of four. In June 2016, we welcomed our third son. I founded Knoxville Moms in November 2013 which began my career as a work-from-home mom, and it grew to the expansion of Chattanooga Moms in March 2016. We welcomed our first girl in November 2017 making us a family of six and adding a little pink in our house. In June 2021, I became the co-owner of the Atlanta Mom website, and in March 2022 I became the owner of the Nashville Moms parenting website. When I’m not chasing the kids or stepping on Legos, you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a good book, and dreaming about my toes in the sand. I enjoy meeting new people and enjoy providing local resources for families in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Nashville.

  1. Being a family of 6 did you have to book 2 rooms in order to get enough wrist bands for your family? They said they can only give 5 wrist bands per room. 😩😩😩
