Ways To Make Money As A Stay-At-Home MomLooking for ways to make money as a stay at home mom? In this economy, and in general, being a stay-at-home mom is a lot more fun when there are extra funds to enjoy the freedom of being at home.

If you’re wondering about ways you can make money as a stay-at-home mom, here are a few ideas you can try that require little to no experience getting started:

Content creator

Got a decent following? Leverage it! Sign up to be a creator on various social media platforms. Post and earn commission for the views and engagement. Every platform has its own criteria for how much they pay out and how to qualify. With a certain following and engagement, you can also begin to partner with brands for deals and agencies.

Freelance

You can freelance write, become a freelance photographer, graphic designer, event planner — you name it! I found freelance writing to be pretty lucrative throughout the years. It’s a career I can do when the kids are sleeping, which I love and enjoy. And it’s been nice to work with the same few people month after month. Getting started is as simple as creating a profile on freelance websites and then using that experience to build your client base.

Reseller

This one requires a little bit of a budget to start or you could simply purge, declutter, and resell what you have already in your house like kids’ items they’ve outgrown. Essentially, you will be flipping products on the internet or Facebook Marketplace for example, so get really good at finding good quality products at a steal of a price and then listing them on Amazon, eBay, Marketplace, or similar sites. Clothes can be listed on Poshmark or taken to consignment shops.

Craft maker

The sky’s the limit for the artsy girls, especially on Etsy. Post all the creative stuff you love to make and upload it to your Etsy store to attract online customers.

Promo model

This is an industry that is super easy to break into with little to no experience. Admittedly, it’s ideal for those outgoing personalities, super friendly faces, and people who are easy on the eyes. I’ve seen gigs starting at anywhere from $17/hour to $40/hour, and they’re usually shorter shifts like 3-5 hours per gig in many cases. You can apply to them and work opposite your husband’s schedule. Most are on the weekends anyway.

Housekeeping

If you are great at cleaning, you can definitely start telling people that you will clean their house or even detail their cars for some extra cash on the side. It’s a super flexible job for those willing to get their hands dirty a few hours a week. You can either work opposite your husband’s schedule or just bring your kid with you to work during the day.

Babysitting/Nannying

If you’re going to be at home with the kids anyway, you might as well offer to keep other peoples’ children for some extra cash. Beware though: there are some legal hoops you have to jump through in order to establish an in-home daycare, but you can still babysit or nanny for one or two kids here and there.

Carpooling

Sometimes families need help with school pick-up and drop-off. Maybe there’s someone within your network who is in need of someone to help pick up their kids from school and is willing to pay you monthly for it.

Party rentals

Do you host grand events and celebrations? Know how to put together stunning balloon arches or flower backdrops? Have bounce houses, tables, chairs, tents, or other party props and decor you can rent out? This is a great residual income you can earn on the side. Let people know what you have and let them rent it out for a set price per hour or per day. You get to use these items for your own parties and events, and then lend them out when you don’t need them.

Lastly, let’s not forget about DoorDash, Instacart, Grubhub, etc. Plus, I’m sure there are many, many, many others that I’ve also missed. Hopefully, this list gives you a running start of different types of ideas. You can try to make money from home as a stay-at-home mom. I am truly rooting for each and everyone of you all. I know being a stay-at-home mom is tough, but if you are looking for ways to make money, hopefully some of these ideas can help you get started. You’ve got this!
