Spend The Best Six Days Of Summer At The Anderson County Fair

Nothing says summer more than a visit to the county fair. Mark your calendars for the best six days of summer because the Anderson County Fair starts on July 15!

General Information

The Anderson County Fair starts on July 15th and goes until the 20th. Gates open at 5pm every evening. Kids 15 and under get free admission every night thanks to sponsors. General admission is $10 (including parking fees) and is cash only. Season passes, which are $40, will get you in for all six nights. Unlimited carnival ride armbands are $20 per night. The fair grounds are located at 218 Nave Street in Clinton. There is a map of the fair grounds on their website.

Activities

There will be fun for everyone in the family at the country fair. There are the classic carnival rides, food trucks, live music being performed every night and special events being held throughout the week. An event you should mark on your calendar is Kid’s Fun Night on Tuesday, July 16 (for kids 6-12), which will include cow milking and prizes for the kids. Kids eight and under can enjoy being a farmer for the day, where they gather eggs, feed pigs, and collect produce for the farmer. Be sure to check the website for the full schedule and information on all the fun.

Competitions

The country fair has three main competitions plus an entire catalog of blue ribbon competitions. The three main competitions are Fairest of the Fair, the Tiny Miss Pageant, and the Truck Pull. Fairest of the Fair is a beauty pageant for girls 10-20 years old. The Tiny Miss Pageant is a beauty pageant for girls 4-9. The two pageants are held on the 15th and 16th of July (more information is on the website). The Truck Pull is on July 18 and 19. Registration opens an hour before the event starts. There are cash prizes for each category.
The blue ribbon competitions boast a wide range of activities to enter in. From 4-H to antiques, and your typical pie and cake contests. Anyone can enter an item, and winners will receive a blue ribbon. Fair guests can view all the winning exhibits in the exhibition hall. Be sure to check out their catalog on their website for full details.

If you’re in town, the Anderson Country Fair should be on your summer bucket list. There is enough excitement that your kids will be talking about it until Christmas.
