Spring has arrived in East Tennessee! That means Easter is not too far behind. Knoxville Moms has a complete list of family activities to create some special Easter memories. You can hunt for hundreds of eggs and even meet the Easter bunny! Many of these events are free, but organizers ask that you bring your own baskets or bags to collect the eggs. However you celebrate, we hope you and your peeps have a great time!

Guests will go on a wagon ride to the egg hunt! The hunt will be split up into different age groups. Celebrate Easter by using natural dyes for coloring your Easter eggs! We will be using a variety of plants including dandelions, elderberries, and cabbage to make the dyes. You will learn the process of making dyes and have an opportunity to color your own eggs. While your eggs are transforming in the dye baths, you can enjoy a hike in the park, listen to children’s stories about eggs, and participate in an egg hunt. Stop by our outdoor classroom on the Hickory Ridge Trail anytime between 1:00 and 3:00 to start the dyeing process. Stories will be read throughout the program and egg hunts will be held at 1:30 and 2:30. For best results plan to let your eggs soak in the dye bath for a minimum of one hour. Please bring your own pre-cooked eggs. The cost of this program is $8 per dozen eggs that you plan to dye. Come by yourself or bring the whole family! White eggs work best, but you can get some interesting colors using brown eggs too.

Eggstravaganza is First Baptist Church’s free community-wide event, and all are invited! It will be held at World’s Fair Park Festival Lawn. There will be a wide variety of events, such as an egg hunt for children of all ages, inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo, snow cones, cotton candy, hot dogs, and much more. An Easter drama will be presented by our FBC drama team at 2:00 pm, followed by our huge egg hunt. We have worship services at 7:00AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:00 AM, but the egg hunt will take place only during the 10:00 AM service—so don’t miss it! After the egg hunt, the fun continues! Kids can stick around for Easter-themed activities, crafts, and snacks, while parents head to one of our wonderful services. It’s a perfect way for the whole family to celebrate Easter morning! Our final egg hunt will be for 4th – 5th grade. There will be photo opportunities with Funny Bunny and other favorite characters. This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you’re trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a “hoppy” Easter theme this time – lots of bunnies gettin’ into all sorts of mischief trying to find carrots while we decorate Easter eggs! We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in – we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate! This class is good for ages 10 and up, but if you’d like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus – we’ll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!
