To all my fellow moms making the holidays magical, I salute you. I know we all have different levels of work we put into the holidays and amounts of time we have to do so. And if you’re like me, you love doing things that have minimal input and maximum reward so you can spend more time having fun with your family!
With this in mind, I share with you my grandmother’s recipe for Easy Microwave Fudge!
This recipe is tied in with many years of Christmas memories for my family and me. My Grandma Naomi submitted it several years ago to her family cookbook, and a few years ago, she passed down the tradition of making it to my mom. Now that I’m a mom, I’m ready to share the fudge magic with my own family! (Note to my mother: I’m not ready to take on the official role of fudge maker just yet!)
Easy Microwave Fudge Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 12 ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, optional (I don’t add nuts because I like smooth creamy fudge!)
Directions: Place chips in a 1 quart glass bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 45 seconds, stirring once while melting. if not melted, continue to microwave in 15 second intervals. Stir until smooth. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Blend in the remaining ingredients and pour into the buttered 8x8x2 dish. Chill until firm.
That’s it! It’s so easy. And the great thing is you can play around with the recipe and add different mix-ins or toppings.
