River’s Edge Christian Academy provides K-12 core curriculum instruction in a four-hour classroom day with afternoon classes and electives available in the upper grades. This schedule allows students time to develop their individual God-given gifts while enjoying family life and learning in various settings. As a college-preparatory school striving for academic excellence, RECA has a certified NAUMS high school which is accredited through AdvancED. Our K4-8th grade lower academy and our 9th-12th grade upper academy are both ACSI members.

After struggling for a couple of years at our previous schools for grades 3 and 4, someone told us about River’s Edge. I so hoped that the blend of classroom education with home study days would work for our family and my son. He was beginning to get a complex and “feel dumb” at the old school. We were so right! We’re now in our 3rd year at River’s Edge. The home days are perfect for my son to catch up and take the time he needs to complete things. The teachers at River’s Edge are so loving and understanding. You can truly tell they are not there just because it’s there job, they love what they do. They love our kids. With the small class size it’s so much easier for them to meet your child where they are at. As a result, my son’s self esteem has grown and he’s made friends and he’s no longer stressed about going to school. We absolutely love River’s Edge!

We love River’s Edge Christian Academy! The university-structured model of three days on campus and two days at home really is the best of both worlds for us. In addition to the grade-appropriate curriculum, my children have learned self-reliance, organization, and study skills at a young age and are empowered to manage aspects of their own education. The teachers at RECA make it easy to teach on home days by providing excellent lesson plans. Teachers are available to answer questions if needed. We are truly blessed to have found a school that meets our family’s needs so well.

This is our 8th year at River’s Edge, and all 3 of my children have attended there. We love so much about it—the extra family time, the smaller class sizes, the amazing teachers who are so committed to the model, the rigorous academics, the Christian atmosphere, and the small family-feel where everyone knows my children. I highly recommend to anyone who is feeling uncertain about full time school or would like to be more involved in your child’s education without actually homeschooling. Our most unexpected benefit from RECA is our slower pace of life and the close relationship my kids share from spending so much time together.

My name is Kari Lapins and I have taught Suzuki Violin and Viola lessons to students of all ages and abilities, beginning at age 3, since 2004. I hold a Masters Degree in Suzuki Pedagogy (registered Every Child Can, Suzuki Violin Books 1-10, and Suzuki Principles in Action with the Suzuki Association of the Americas) and Violin Performance from Northern Arizona University. I offer weekly individual lessons and monthly group and Music Mind Games classes, as well as performance opportunities and elective classes. I believe in teaching each individual child in a nurturing learning environment and celebrating with them as they gain new knowledge and skills. In keeping with the Suzuki philosophy, I believe that Every Child Can learn to play the violin!

That’s right, take a deep sigh of relief. Unless of course…you want to – Anything else you choose to do is bonus material for your learner. Our in-person curriculum includes all of the core classes designed according to your learner’s individual level (math, science, reading, social studies, Bible). Online classes expand upon these as learners can choose which classes they enjoy taking or need more practice with. Extracurricular online courses could include music, art, foreign language, ASL, political science, apologetics and more. Can’t join us in person? Sign up for à la carte online classes – you can even join the school in semester long live classes.

Who We Are: A Christian hybrid teaching platform that includes a variety of classes both in-person and online. While the world is teaching our children that genders are subjective, science disproves God’s existence and we need to separate God from schools – we will teach children how to defend their beliefs, that science can coincide with God’s beautiful creation and be able to stand firm in their faith backed by logic, facts and science. As more learners are transferring to online education, there is a lack of Christian courses.

When you reach ~20 weeks gestation, it’s time to establish care with a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist.
