4 Ways to Ease the Back to School Transition

School is back in session, so we are saying goodbye to summer and hello to busier days, homework, and all the activities and commitments that come with the school year. To help the transition go smoothly, we have come up with some of our favorite tips for these first few weeks of the new school year. Who knows, they may be so helpful that you’ll want to keep them around all year.

1. Have Fun

Just because school has started back doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun. Caitland came up with a list of night and weekend activities that the kids will love — see those fun activities here!

2. Freezer Meals

Getting back into the swing of things can be hard, and we all know weeknights are busy so having a few crowd-pleasing meals ready to go in the freezer is a huge help. Ashley B. makes amazing freezer meals for her family and her business, so it’s safe to say she knows how it’s done. Find three of her favorites here!

3. Car Time

With school comes time in the car; the two seem to go hand in hand. Whether you’re dropping kids off at two or three different schools or sitting in car line waiting, time in the car can be entertaining when you are listening to the right thing. I am sold on listening to audio books and podcasts. Our contributors love podcasts and have suggestions for murder mystery and other genres as well!

4. Planning

Take time to plan out and balance this new season for your family. Haley M. gives some great tips on setting boundaries, doing what’s important for your family, and planning and organizing. Taking a little bit of time to sit and plan is so helpful for how your days will flow. Read her post here!

We hope the first week of school has been fabulous for you and your kids! Remember, we’re all in this together!
