Safety City Knoxville is opening for summer! This kid favorite will open for its public summer hours starting Tuesday, June 4th. Children can ride their bicycles or scooters around the miniature version of Knoxville complete with buildings, paved streets and sidewalks, working traffic signals and traffic signs. Kids and parents alike enjoy picking out area landmarks like the Sunsphere and Neyland Stadium. What better way to cool off on those hot summer days than riding a bicycle through the working “car wash” at Safety City?
There are also picnic tables at Safety City and at the playground next to Safety City. The perfect spots to refuel after all that pedaling! (And play some more!) There is often a food truck at Safety City as well during the summer months.
Safety City will be open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-2:00pm starting Tuesday, June 6th. The last day for Safety City this summer will be July 25th. There is also a summer kickoff event on May 24th from 5pm-8pm.
