Late Summer/Early Fall Date Night Ideas

0

Summer is officially winding down and as I stepped out of the door this morning, I actually felt a little chill in the air. School is getting ready to be in full swing and that means back to routines and schedules. Now is the perfect time of year to grab a few weekends or days during the week and dedicate them to DATE NIGHT before the craziness of fall takes over.

Here are some ways I would like to spend my date nights these next few months:

1. Explore the South Knoxville Waterfront

Grab a Taco at SoKno Taco. Go on a bike ride. Then head over and grab a cup of coffee at Honeybee. I don’t know the last time you were able to explore this part of town, but it has changed so, so much and is amazing! Definitely take the time to head over and explore!

2. Lawn Chair Series

While this is a very family-friendly event, take it from me, it is also a great opportunity to get a babysitter, pack a dinner and bring a chair that you will actually be able to sit in rather than chase kiddos all around! This Farragut event is one you won’t want to miss! There is only one left, on August 11th. It has food trucks, the most AMAZING doughnut truck in all the land, the Knox Photo bus, and best of all free music!!!

3. Smokies Game

There is still time to catch a game! Head over to Smokies stadium and grab yourself a beer and a hot dog! Sit back, relax, and enjoy ALL nine INNINGS without a squirming child doing backflips in their seat! It is a great opportunity to spend time with your sports loving husband, but also to catch up and chat!

4. Brewery Tour

I will admit: I don’t get out as much as I used to. I didn’t even know there were enough breweries in Knoxville to have an actual tour, but there are!! Get a group of friends together and enjoy a night out on the town!

5. Day Hike

Take the day to challenge yourself and each other on a hike that maybe you wouldn’t want to take the little ones on. We are so lucky to live in a part of the country where we have all these opportunities in our back yard! Pack a lunch and spend the day on the trail, just the two of you!

6. Play Golf

I grew up playing golf, but I can count on one hand the number of times I have played since I had kids, unfortunately. I have vowed to change that! Golf is a sport that the two of you can play for the rest of your life, so it is a great investment and a great way to spend a day together.

7. Tubing

I can tell you right now that mountain water is COLD! Luckily it has been pretty warm these last few weeks so hopefully that has helped take the chill off at least a little bit. Now is the time to grab your honey and relax while floating down a mountain stream without worrying about a child falling off a float!

8. RT Lodge

This place is a hidden gem, nestled in the woods behind Maryville College. Make a reservation for dinner or stay the night in their incredible lodge. This place is a real treat for a special occasion or if you just want a special night away. It really is hard to beat!

9. First Friday

Downtown Knoxville is already probably my number one go-to for a date night, but First Friday downtown is even more special and has a little something for everyone. Whether you enjoy the arts, music, or food, First Friday showcases it all. Don’t miss the next one on August 4th!

10. Drive-in Movie

Let’s just admit that drive-in movies start LATE. By the time the movie starts, the kids are already going bonkers and you are wondering why you thought this was a good idea in the first place. This can be the perfect date night though! Grab a blanket and a picnic and snuggle up under the stars while watching the big screen!!

These are just a few suggestions on ways to spend time with your honey outside of the ol’ dinner and a movie. What are some of your favorite ways to spend time with your husband?
