It’s that time of year that everyone loves…fall! So many beautiful things and happy moments are associated with this season. Fall festivals, crop harvest, pumpkin patches, leaf color changes, football games, family outings and so much more. We are so blessed to live in an area with four very distinct seasons and so much beauty associated with each one. The mountains put on a spectacular show of so much color. Even though it is still as hot as a furnace out in East Tennessee, the Fall Pinterest boards are seeing a lot of activity and boot ads are everywhere!
Decorating for fall doesn’t mean you have to just use the very traditional red, yellow and orange colors. There are several ways to bring fall to your decor. Some decor can even carry through to the next season. Here are few great ideas that I wanted to share with you:
1. Add a few metallic accessories.
They can really warm up a space and are still a strong design trend. Copper, gold and brass are easy to layer and will last way beyond fall, Christmas and can even be used everyday.
2. For a touch of whimsy, use a string of twinkle lights on the tabletop or mantle.
My kids think they are magical and have them in their rooms year round.
3. Think beyond the traditional colors of fall.
This works really well for neutral homes and bohemian styles. Pumpkins come in an array of colors!
4. Use ornamental kale in floral arrangements.
Kale is a traditional floral that is available starting late summer for landscaping and arrangements.
It comes in several varieties and can add so much to a centerpiece. They also last into winter.
5. Add texture with a throw.
Cozy up with a warm, knit throw on the bed or couch. It is perfect for snuggling by the fire and adds a layer of warmth to a room.
Fall is a beautiful season of change. How can you incorporate fall decor into your space? Are you ready for sweaters and pumpkin lattes?
