In case you didn’t know it, Father’s Day is THIS SUNDAY!! If you happened to let it slip your mind this year, like last year (and the year before that), you’re not alone. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t seem to remember it; personally I blame it on Hallmark. They start commercials for every other “holiday” a full month before the actual day, but not with our dads!
Needless to say, I’m notorious for last minute gift ideas, and I am not crafty, nor do I have the time to make something. So here are a few of my favorite, last-minute, non-crafty gift ideas:
1. Magazine Subscription: the plus is, they get to enjoy it year round. My husband personally loves getting The Family Handyman magazine (great tips for around the house projects), Consumer Reports, or Men’s Health.
2. Gift Certificate for a “Man Day:” you can either buy the certificate, or just give them a free pass for the day to go enjoy it, guilt free (that’s the key – no getting upset when he’s gone ALL day). Some ideas would be a day playing golf, the riffle range, or even fishing.
3. Car Detailing: this one may take a little bit of prep time to coordinate getting his car, but you can always give it as a gift certificate and let him pick the day to have it done. Some places will even come to you so it saves you the leg work!
4. Drink of choice: whether it’s root beer, craft beer, or liquor, splurge on that upper-end, expensive or hard to find brew. This one may take some leg work as well, so don’t wait too long.
5. If all else fails, Pinterest: there are TONS of cute ideas on there, just be realistic about what you and your little humans can do! Don’t stress about it too much, you can always find a cute printable to slap on a grill spatula that let’s dad know you “flip” for him!!
