We are now into the holiday season, and a must do is a visit to Gaylord Opryland in Nashville. Christmas at Gaylord Opryland is a magical experience for the whole family, and this year ICE! is better than ever!
This post is brought to you by our partners at Gaylord Opryland.
Here are the Top Reasons to visit Gaylord Opryland for Christmas:
ICE!
It’s a cool 9 degrees Fahrenheit inside, but our signature blue parkas are warm and toasty. Over 40 world-renowned master artisans spend over 6-weeks hand-carving approximately 6,000 blocks of ice to create this one-of-a-kind Christmas attraction! With over 17,000-square-foot and 9 immersive scenes, it’s a holiday experience that you can’t miss!
ICE! is an amazing experience for the whole family. It truly is like walking into an ice museum and viewing frozen art. This is a must-see if you visit over the holidays. This year’s theme is Frosty (one of our favorite themes so far), and it truly is a wonder to experience!
Ice Tubing
Experience our 15-foot-high, four-lane ice tubing hill. It’s all the fun of sledding with the added speed of ice! Race friends and family to see who can reach the bottom first, or ride with a friend on a double tube. This is an absolute blast for kids and those who are young at heart!
Ice Skating
Enjoy the perfect day or evening under the stars by going on a yuletide glide at our 9,000-square-foot outdoor skating rink made with real ice. Lessons available.
This was the first time my kids had skating, and it was a great way to introduce them. The rink has many push bears to assist learning skaters. They also do multiple shows, and you can even schedule ice skating lessons with the performers!
Bumper Cars
Enjoy classic bumper car rides in the great outdoors. Get ready to slide and glide during this action-packed experience.
These bumper cars were so fun! They were fun to drive and the bumping was some of the smoothest bumping I’ve experienced in bumper cars.
Gingerbread Decorating Corner
Don’t wait — make a date to decorate! Let your Christmas creativity run wild when you adorn your gingerbread house or cookies. After you’ve decorated to your heart’s content, make your way to visit the Gingerbread Bakery.
This area was hopping! So many fun houses being built, and you can even order some hot chocolate while decorating. Don’t miss a photo opportunity with the Gingerbread man!
Mrs. Claus’ North Pole Breakfast
Breakfast is served! This one-of-a-kind dining and photo opportunity with Mrs. Claus includes a delicious breakfast to enjoy with friends and family.
Photos with Santa
Mailing a letter to the North Pole is great, but nothing can beat a personal visit with Santa Claus to let him know what you want for Christmas and make sure you’re on his nice list. Capture the moment with a keepsake photo.
Don’t miss out on seeing the big guy! This a perfect opportunity to snag those Santa photos! (Santa area below so many fun photo opportunities in addition to seeing Santa.)
Snowman Scramble Scavenger Hunt
A frozen flurry has swept through the atrium, scattering vibrant clothing and accessories meant for decorating Christmas snowmen. Embark on a festive quest to find these scattered pieces and use them to design your very own snowman, bringing the Christmas spirit back to life!
This is always a favorite activity for the kids. We love adventuring through the resort looking for clues and collecting a prize in the end. This year’s was extra fun and the kids favorite prize yet!
Snowball Build and Blast
Grab a bucket of real snowballs and take aim at interactive targets created by Santa’s Elves.
What kid doesn’t like having a snowball fight? Kids or adults get a container of snow and get to throw at the Santa’s Elves.
Nightly Tree Lighting and Caroling
Join us nightly on the Magnolia Lawn to sing Christmas carols and watch the spectacular tree lighting. Nightly: Carolers begin performing at 5:15 p.m.; lights are turned on promptly at 5:20 p.m.
