We all need a little self care and pampering from time to time, am I right? And moms might need it more than anyone! I really lucked out this Christmas and received several fun beauty products, many of which I had been wanting to try from seeing Instagram influencers say how much they liked them. I’ve been trying them out over the past two weeks and documenting the results so that I could decide what to keep using and what I probably wouldn’t need again!
Here are my results so far:
Lost Baggage Eye Gels
- Light, clean scent
- Cool serum
- Good size gels
- Enough serum to cover whole face, neck
- Left on for 20 minutes
- Face felt very smooth afterwards and even smoother an hour later; skin felt mildly tighter around eyes.
Rating: great, would buy more
Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Dew Cream
- Fine, dry, tightening
- Slightly funny smell
Rating: not likely to buy again
- Nothing out of ordinary
Rating: fine, would not buy again.
The Earthling Co. Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
- Nice clean scent
- Lathers nicely
- Takes a little practice
- Hair feels voluminous and moisturized after washing
- Used for two weeks so far
- Hair stays clean two days between washes if necessary
- I’ve wanted to try a shampoo bar for a while now and was really pleased with these! Only downside was the price point which is $24-$30 every three months (according to website, not sure how long they will actually last)
Rating: excellent, would buy again
Nivea Fruity Cuties Lip Care Variety Pack
- Appealing scents
- Cute colors
- I paired with Vaseline lip therapy on top for shine/moisture
- Color lasts a surprisingly long time
- Easy way to look more put together on a regular day
- Doesn’t feel gross and thick like some lipsticks
- Good price for a 4-pack
Rating: excellent, would buy again
Pillow Talk Heatless Curlers (found at Marshall’s)
- Incomplete analysis: I took them out around midnight because I couldn’t turn my head and I’m a side sleeper!
- Easy to put in
- Comfortable for back sleeping
- Really like the spray bottle that came with it for wetting down my boys’ bed head
Rating: going to try again!
Tula Skincare Cleanser
- Felt good and did the job
- Cleaned a full face of makeup
- Didn’t feel drying
Rating: it was good and I would buy again
Tula Ultra Hydrating Day & Night Cream
- Felt a little prickly on dry winter skin, but otherwise good
Rating: Pretty good, would probably buy again if it was in my beauty budget
