As the crisp autumn air settles in and the leaves start to change colors, there’s nothing quite like visiting a pumpkin patch to fully embrace the spirit of fall. A newcomer to the East Tennessee pumpkin patch scene, Blackburn Farm is situated along a scenic river in Lenoir City. The picturesque setting is the perfect backdrop for a festive fall day — or days — spent on the farm.
Opening day at Blackburn Farm is October 2nd!
A New Family Tradition
Blackburn Farm is a family owned and operated venture with the goal of giving the community a place to “gather and create lasting memories.” While the patch is opening for its second season, there is a wide range of activities for families to enjoy. There are the traditional fall farm activities like a corn maze, corn pits, hayride and pumpkin patch. There is also a large bounce pillow, train ride, haybale swings, slides and yard games. This year Blackburn Farm is debuting a petting zoo with goats and sheep and a human hamster wheel which will be sure to be a hit! General admission is $15.00 which includes all the farm amenities we mentioned and more. If you’re interested in taking home a pumpkin from the patch, general admission is $20.00. Children two and under are always free. When you arrive, make your way over to the barn to pay your entry fee.
Finding the Perfect Pumpkin
One of the highlights of visiting Blackburn Farm is, of course, searching for the perfect pumpkin! You can walk or take a hayride down to the pumpkin patch which is located on the beautiful riverbank. The kids will love running up and down the rows to find a pumpkin that’s just right. There are plenty of sizes, shapes and colors to choose from. Even more pumpkins are located at the charming Blackburn Farm gift shop. You’ll find specialty ornamental gourds along with fall and Halloween-themed products and goodies to take home. Blackburn Farm accepts cash and any form of card payment.
Seasonal Treats and Delights
You’ll certainly work up an appetite with all the fall fun you’ll be having at Blackburn Farm. You can’t go home without trying the hot and fresh donuts and the delicious apple cider slushies. You can thank us later! This year there are even more food offerings. Guests can visit the food truck by the river for more treats like kettle corn and ice cream. Looking for heartier fare? Blackburn Farm also serves pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and nachos. If that doesn’t tempt your tastebuds, Blackburn Farm does allow you to bring your own food and drink.
Capturing the Spirit of Fall
Once you visit Blackburn Farm you’ll see that it will quickly become a part of your family’s fall tradition. Blackburn Farm’s owners summed it up perfectly: “It’s the perfect place to embrace the beauty of the Tennessee autumn weather with your family and create a new tradition.”
