Knoxville and East Tennessee Family 4th of July Events

Alcoa FreedomFest

June 24th, 6:00pm-11:00pm

The fireworks are set to begin after the sun sets. There will be food and craft vendors, a kids’ cove, and local musical entertainment including Thor & The Reigns and The Dirty Gospel.


Dollywood’s Summer Celebration

June 17th-August 6th
Dollywood
Free with day’s admission.
A multi-sensory drone experience illuminates the night sky above the park.


Knoxville Celebration of the 4th

July 4th, 5:00pm-10:00pm (Fireworks begin at 9:35pm)
World’s Fair Park
Free
Good music, good food, good fun and good times await at the Knoxville Celebration of the 4th! The festival lawn will be filled with activities to please kids of all ages including miniature golf and paddle boats in the lake at World’s Fair Park. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will be the musical finale starting at 8:00pm. Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. No alcohol, tents or pets allowed.


Pigeon Forge Patriot Fest

July 4th, 4:00pm-10:35pm
Patriot Park
Free admission
The night will feature music, food and fun games. Country superstar Sara Evans will be the headliner. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Please leave your umbrellas and coolers at home.


James White’s Fort 4th of July Celebration

July 4th, 10:00am-11:30am
James White’s Fort
Free, Donations accepted
This annual observance of Independence Day is in cooperation with Sons of the Revolution. The group will hold a reenactment.


Lenoir City’s Rockin’ the Docks

July 1st, 1:00pm-10:30pm
Lenoir City Park
Free
Come by land or water! Live music, festival and food vendors kick off at 1:00pm. There is also a children’s play area for kids to enjoy. Food and drink are available for purchase.


City of Clinton 4th of July Celebration

July 4th, 5:00pm-10:00pm
Lakefront Park
Free
There will be live music, food and plenty of free activities for the kids including laser tag, a petting zoo and a gaming truck. The evening will end with a fireworks show.


Gatlinburg 4th of July Fireworks & Midnight Parade

July 4th, 10:00pm
Parkway, downtown Gatlinburg
Free
Gatlinburg is once again celebrating Independence Day with the first parade in the nation! The parade begins at 12:01am on July 3rd at Baskins Creek Bypass on East Parkway. Then the parade turns south onto Parkway at traffic light number three and travels the length of downtown to traffic light number 10 on Ski Mountain Road. Be sure to arrive early for a good spot as the Parkway is blocked off before the start of the parade.


Farragut’s Annual Independence Day Parade

July 4th, 9:30am-12:30pm
Free
The Parade will begin on Kingston Pike at Stadium Drive and continues to Boring Road, just east of Farragut Towne Square Shopping Center (old Ingles store site).


Museum of Appalachia Independence Day Celebration & Anvil Shoot, Clinton

July 4th, 9:00am-3:00pm
Museum of Appalachia
Free with day’s admission.
Spend Independence Day celebrating the old-fashioned way. The Museum opens for visitors at 9:00am and the Anvil shooting is at 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Event includes a bell-ringing ceremony, flag procession, old-fashioned games, music, and demonstrations from beekeepers, blacksmiths, and patriotic re-enactors.


Fourth of July on Mabry’s Hill

July 4th, 5:00pm-10:00pm
Mabry-Hazen House
Adults $15.00, Child (ages 5-15) $5.00
Enjoy great views, good food and drinks, live music, fun games, great company and tours of the 1858 house. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and spread out seven acres of greenspace near downtown and right off I-40. Historic Mabry’s Hill enjoys a spectacular view of the fireworks presented by the City of Knoxville. There will also be several activities for kids and the young at heart including sack races, watermelon seed spitting contests, three-legged races, bocce, croquet, corn hole, and much more. Tickets for adults (16+) are $15.00 which includes two drink tickets and children (ages 5-15) are $5.00. Members of Mabry-Hazen House are $10.00 and children under five are free.


Gatlinburg’s River Raft Regatta, Gatlinburg

July 4th, 11:00am-2:00pm

Gatlinburg’s most-nail biting race of the summer returns! Set against the backdrop of Gatlinburg’s fun-filled Fourth of July celebration, comes the ever-competitive River Raft Regatta, an annual race of unmanned floatables down the Little Pigeon River.
All contestants will begin the day at the race’s starting line at the Christ in the Smokies bridge, beginning from 11:00am to register their floatable. The race kicks-off at 1:00pm and ends after all floatables have crossed the finish line at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Event goers can opt to enter a rented rubber duck into the competition (or bring your own at no cost) for $2.00 or three for $5.00. All proceeds go to the Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation.


Townsend Fireworks

July 4th, 6:00pm
Adjacent to Highland Manor Inn
Free
The festivities will include hot dogs, snow cones and face painting. The live music will begin at 7:30pm. The fireworks show will begin at dark. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.


Loudon Independence Day Celebration

July 3rd, 5:00pm
Loudon Municipal Park
Free
Enjoy a great firework display while tailgating at Loudon Municipal Park. Several food trucks will be on hand. Gates open at 5:00pm. Gates close for car traffic at 8:00pm and fireworks will begin at 10:00pm. Great viewing in areas surrounding Municipal Park.


Greenback July 4th Fireworks

July 4th, 6:00pm
Greenback Community Center
Free
Greenback is celebrating July 4th with a fun-filled evening for families! The live music begins at 6:00pm. Fireworks will begin around 9:00pm. Food trucks will be on hand as well.


Oak Ridge Community Band July 4th Concert

July 4th, 7:30pm
AK Bissell Park
Free, Donations Accepted
The Oak Ridge Community band is celebrating Independence Day with classic and contemporary musical pieces that honor our country. After the concert the Oak Ridge Fire Department will have a beautiful fireworks display in AK Bissell Park. Razzelberry’s Ice Cream will be there with plenty of ice cream for purchase. As always, admission is free.
