The Episcopal School of Knoxville’s Middle School academic program is rich in opportunity for intellectual exploration and discovery as well as creative expression.
The Episcopal School of Knoxville recognizes the middle school years as the most varied and exciting period in adolescent life. During this important time of intellectual, physical, moral, spiritual and emotional development, students establish foundations for success in high school, college and the world beyond. Our goal is to prepare students to walk confidently through the doors of the high school of their choosing. Mastering an essential core of knowledge, enhancing critical thinking skills, and developing effective communication strategies are integral components of the Middle School experience.
With the addition of a 22,000 sq. foot building set to open in November 2016, the expanded space for the arts, athletics, academics and innovation will allow ESK to deepen the middle school experience of Episcopal education. In the new space, students will hone their skills in collaboration, communication and critical thinking for the 21st century.
In the new Makerspace, projects will quickly become a hub of creativity and innovation. Working with currents in motion, the space will augment the school’s ability to foster children’s curiosity and desire to create. With the Fine Arts being a focus at ESK with current offerings of a choral performing group, string band and concert band, the building will add flexible rehearsal and performance spaces for the growing and popular programs. Lastly the building will include a new gymnasium. With a record number of students participating in sports, the athletic facility will include a regulation high-school court for both basketball and volleyball and growth of a new soccer/football field, a multipurpose field and four tennis courts.
