Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the Bible story of Joseph, the son of Jacob, and his eleven brothers. In this adventure, Joseph is given a coat of many colors, which symbolizes his father’s favor and his brothers’ jealousy. The experience explores a variety of musical styles including country-western, bubble-gum pop, rock ‘n’ roll, and calypso.
The Admirals Performing Arts Company (APAC) of Farragut High School is set to stage Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as their next winter musical. Having had great success with renowned shows such as Chicago: Teen Edition, Mamma Mia!, and 9 to 5, The Musical in years past, their next spectacle is bound to continue the tradition.
The APAC production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is directed by Dr. Tony Wooley, along with vocal directors, Mr. Mitchell Moore and Mrs. Kirstine Buchanan, and choreographer Ms. Bria Bannister. All other aspects – from the cast, to the set construction, to the backstage crew, and most of the pit band – are carried out by students enrolled in either Musical Theatre or Stagecraft, aided by passionate student volunteers.
The event will take place at Farragut High School in the Vickie B. Wells auditorium, on December 12th, 13th, & 14th. Curtain all three nights is at 7:00 PM, and doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $15 each. A “run-of-the-show” ticket bundle for all three nights is available to purchase for $40.
